---- — FREMONT — Frances Marie Pope, 89, of Fremont, passed away Feb. 23, 2014, at her home in Fremont.

She was born March 21, 1924, in Fremont to Charles Emery and Edith Blanche Brown Davis. She attended school in Fremont. On Aug. 6, 1943, she was united in marriage to Mervin Pope. He died Jan. 18, 1986. She enjoyed watching the birds and doing crafts.

Frances is survived by her two daughters, Connie Letner of Ten Mile, Tenn., and Edith (Don) Kurth of Brunswick, Ga.; a son, David (Deb) Pope of Hedrick; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, David "Jay" Davis of Sun City, Ariz.; and a sister, Alice "Jean" Boozé of Pella.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sisters, Kathryn Witt and Ruth Adams; and four brothers, Paul, Wayne, Chuck and Lloyd "Tubby" Davis.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Township Memorial Cemetery south of Fremont; Pastor Jim Olson officiating. A procession will form at 10:45 a.m. at the Fremont Funeral Chapel for those wishing to go to the cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the family present from 9:30-10:45 a.m. to greet friends and relatives.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials may be given to the Fremont Rescue Unit.
