FREMONT — Daisy Smith Morrison, 92, of Huron, S.D., died Feb. 24, 2014, at SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron.
Daisy La Rue Smith Morrison was born on Sept. 15, 1921, in Unionville to Henry Ray and Amanda (Foster) Strunk. In 1935, she moved with her family to Fremont.
Daisy married Clifford Smith of Fremont on March 9, 1938. The couple moved to Huron, S.D., where Cliff worked for the Chicago and Northwestern Rail Road and she worked as a designer for Walker’s Flower Shop for the next 40 years. Clifford passed away on Oct. 21, 1971. Daisy then married Wenfred “Wennie” Morrison in 1973. He passed on March 29, 1995. She always treasured her two loving marriages.
Daisy was an avid member of Huron’s First Baptist Church and Elizabeth Circle. She also frequently volunteered for several charities. Daisy will be remembered for her excellent cooking, especially candies and pies, her collection of tea cups and saucers, love of animals and the pride she took in her cozy home.
Daisy is survived by her two daughters, Patricia (Jim) Rila of Franklin, Pa., Pam (John) Reilly of Appleton, Wis.; one stepdaughter, Delores (Joe) Wipf of Rapid City, S.D.; five grandchildren, Debra (Rick) Wagner, Scott (Lori) Smith, Brad Reilly, Melissa Reilly, Eric Reilly; one brother, Richard (June) Strunk; two sisters, Mildred Fern Lowe and Mary Edna Collins; serveral stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Daisy was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Cliff and Wennie; granddaughter, Amanda Reilly; stepson, Bud (LaJune) Morrison; brothers, Robert Perl (Mazine) Strunk, Jack Strunk; sisters, Ruth (Ward) Taylor, Lucille (Dayton) Gates; and nephew Charles (Betty) Locker.

A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in Cedar Township Memorial Cemetery, south of Fremont.
