TROY — Betty Ellen Langford, 85, of Troy, died Feb. 27, 2014, at the Bloomfield Care Center in Bloomfield.
She was born Oct. 2, 1928, in Agency to Cecil Grahm and B. Elizabeth Gardner Schlotter. She married Dale Edward Langford April 28, 1956, in Bloomfield. She was a homemaker. Betty was a member of the Troy United Methodist Church, where she also sang in the church choir. She was an active community member of Troy, serving on the Troy election board, writing the Troy news section of the Bloomfield Democrat and belonging to the Troy Mothers Club and the Troy Lodge. She had a reputation for her Angel Food Cake, going to garage sales and having a beautiful garden full of flowers. She also enjoyed her kitty cats. Betty spent two weeks on an “Alaskan Adventure” and cherished the memory the rest of her life.
She is survived by her husband; four children, Kerri (Roger) Daniels of Newton, Randy (Benna) Langford of Troy, Kim (Tony) Gragg of Tulsa, Okla., Todd (Terri) Langford of Phoenix, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren, Megan, Aaron (Kelsey), Emma Daniels, Josh Langford, Amy (Jason) Marlow, Amber and Brody Fisher, Jesse and Jacob Lundin, Alicia Ashmead, Kyle Gragg, Meghan (John) McComb, Oscar and Isabelle Langford; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Bob, Harold and Tom Schlotter.
Betty’s wish was to be cremated. No services are planned.
