OTTUMWA — Sylvia L. Dudley, 94, formerly of 521 Ferry St. died at 10:35 a.m. December 17, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
She was born December 3, 1919 in Wapello Co., IA to Roy and Lula Ulrick Brown. She married Howard Saner on July 4, 1937. He preceded her in death.
Sylvia worked as a waitress at the Koffee Kup and worked at Everco. She sold Avon products for more than 30 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Viola (Ken) Kent of Ft. Myers, FL and Leola (Gary) Canny of Carlisle; a son, Roy “Butch” Saner of Cresco; 14 grandchildren; 30 great- grandchildren and 4 great- great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Ed Bryant of Fairfield and a sister, Verma Jones of Knoxville.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Anola Bryant; four sisters, Elvina Ault, Irene Brown, Dorothy Kranz and Rosemary Shadley and daughter-in-law, Helen Saner.
Her body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
