OTTUMWA — Frances Elizabeth McCullough, 98, of Scottsdale, Ariz., passed away on Dec. 16, 2013, at her residence at Barton House Senior Living.
She was born Aug. 13, 1915, in Harrisburg Township, Van Buren County, Iowa, to George Russell and Lulu Irwin Barclay. She graduated from Stockport High School in 1933 and from Iowa Success Business College in Ottumwa in 1934. Her work experience as a secretary included Haw Hardware Company and later John Deere Ottumwa Works.
She married Dale A. McCullough on Aug. 31, 1941, in Storm Lake. He preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1992.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ottumwa and Chapter HQ P.E.O. of Ottumwa.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann Smith of Stowe, Vt., and The Villages, Fla., and Sue Ellen Matteson, of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; a son, William Barclay McCullough of Chandler, Ariz.; and three granddaughters, Abigail Smith and Emily Smith and Cynthia Matteson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Everett Barclay; and sister, Helen Wymore.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Robertson-Jay Funeral Home; Pastor David Klanderman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation with family present will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday.
