OTTUMWA — Joan Knapp, 81, of 118 S. Union St., died at 4:52 p.m. January 5, 2014, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
She was born February 12, 1932, in Martinsville, Ill., to James and Dortha Rogers Rose.
Joan had worked at Standard Kollsman, owned and operated Jo’s Truck Stop and retired as a cook at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Ill.
She loved gardening, cooking and being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are a daughter, Joetta Snelling of Kirkville; a son, Joey Knapp of Ottumwa; five grandchildren, Joseph, Jeff and Jason Puffinbarger, Bubba Knapp and Amanda Baird; 12 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; a sister and two brothers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Knapp; two sisters; three brothers.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Hornback officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Tuesday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
