OTTUMWA — Virginia Harwood, 69, of 722 Morris St., died at 1:05 a.m. January 4, 2014, at her home.
She was born April 3, 1944, in Ottumwa to Truman and Mae Tickle Cliburn. She married Kenneth Harwood May 1, 1981.
A resident of Ottumwa all of her life, she had worked as a nurses' aid.
She enjoyed yard work, gardening, antiques and especially her animals.
Surviving are her husband, Kenneth; a daughter, Brenda (David) Shipley of Oskaloosa; a son, Truman (Brenda Sue) Dickerson of Agency; a stepson, Roy (Missy) Harwood of Oskaloosa; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; a stepgreat-grandchild; a sister, Betty Fredrick; and two brothers, Elmer Cliburn of Florida and Carl (Janet) Cliburn of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, two brothers, Oscar and Daniel Cliburn, and a sister, Velma Archer.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Fiedler officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
