BLOOMFIELD — C. Lowell Spurgeon, 90, of Bloomfield, died March 24, 2014, at the Bloomfield Care Center.
He was born Feb. 22, 1924, in Davis County to Charles Galen and Lena Henderson Spurgeon. He married Lubelle Whitacre July 30, 1941, in Lancaster, Mo. She preceded him in death Jan. 9, 2014. Lowell loved working on the family farm and raising livestock. He enjoyed bowling and is a member of the Bloomfield Bowling Association Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his daughter, Jena (Dave) Hawk of Bloomfield; daughter-in-law, Karen Spurgeon of Bloomfield; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sons, Gary and Marty Spurgeon; a granddaughter, Shari Forsythe; and a sister, Lola.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield; Pastor Tim Frasher officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday with the family present to greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
A memorial has been established and will be determined at a later date.
