OTTUMWA — Marjorie Marie Cowles, 90, formerly of 1335 N. Elm St., died at 1:48 p.m. March 22, 2014, at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
She was born on April 12, 1923, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Cecil and Ethel M. Bennett Baker. She married Willis Scott Cowles on June 27, 1942.
A graduate of Hedrick High School, she has been a resident of Ottumwa since 1962.
She and her husband owned and operated Cowles TV Appliance. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, Dale L. (Mary Rae) Cowles of Bellevue, Wash., and Doyle L. (Lori M.) Cowles of Dubuque, Iowa; five grandchildren, Sabrina Hickel, Casey, Mikaela and Tasha Cowles and Amanda Willard: five great-grandchildren, Meghan, Ryan and Riley Hickel, Olivia and Caleb Willard.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
