OTTUMWA — Glendine Hartley, 86, of Ottumwa, died at home March 21, 2014.
She was born July 20, 1927, in Ottumwa to Ernest and Ida Hazel Pherigo Richardson. She married Howard D. Hartley Sr. Feb. 23, 1948. She worked as a clerk at many grocery stores in Ottumwa.
Survivors include two sons, Howard D (Margaret) Hartley Jr. of Minnesota and Jeff C. Hartley of Ottumwa; one daughter, Marsha (Bruce) Rowden of Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Cindy Hartley; three grandchildren, Chris (Amanda) Hartley, Julie (Jai) Skaar and Alex (Samantha) Hartley; five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Amanda, Kathlene, Brent and Maxim; one sister, Dolores (Dick) Newport of Ottumwa and two sisters-in-law, Joyce Richardson of Ottumwa and Margaret (Don) Buchholtz of Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Steven and Brian; four sisters, Dorothy, Verla, Marjorie and Ettie; and four brothers, Wilber, Walter, Ronald and Ernest Jr.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Robertson-Jay Funeral Home; Caroline Iammatteo-Code officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
