OTTUMWA — Deloris W. Harper, 95, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Ottumwa, passed away Oct. 17, 2013, at home with her family by her side.
Deloris was born Oct. 5, 1918, in Winigan, Mo., to Harrison and Ora Nickell; she was the eldest of 15 children. She married Linn D. Harper, who preceded her in death 29 years ago. She was a Jehovah Witness. She was a homemaker and loved gardening, painting and putting puzzles together.
She is survived by her children, Delane (Belinda) Harper, Ernest Dean Harper and Linda Harper. She is also survived by her sister, Fern Moll; brothers, Gail Nickell and Nelson Nickell, all of Missouri. She had seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Danny Harper; husband, Linn D. Harper; and 11 brothers.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to everyone who cared for Deloris: Hospice of the Valley, Comfort Keepers and especially to Mollie.
A memorial service will be held on at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall, located at 1714 E. Earll St., Phoenix, Ariz.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Deloris’ name to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, Ariz.
