ELDON — Lee “Sonny” Fisk, 79 of Eldon, passed away at 2:58 a.m. Nov. 3, 2013, at his home in Eldon.
Lee “Sonny” Fisk was born on April 7, 1934, in Ottumwa, the son of Ollie O. and Ramah L. Engleking Fisk. He was educated in a country school in the Turkey Scratch area. On Aug. 30, 1955, he married Icel Maureen Saner in Monticello. Sonny was inducted into the U.S. Army on April 12, 1956, where he served until Feb. 11, 1958.
Sonny was employed by the Rock Island Railroad for more than 25 years. He loved to play his guitar, spend time at Karen and Jack’s cabin at the river with his family, garden and mow the lawn with his “new” riding lawn mower. Sonny’s favorite pastime was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Icel Fisk of Eldon; six children, Deborah Stone and husband Charlie of Batavia, Lisa Fisk of Eldon, Nancy Liles and husband Terry of Floris, Becky Ehret and husband Bob of Eldon, Steven Fisk and wife Debbie of Eldon and Karen Ehret and husband Jack of Eldon; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lorraine Neaville of Ankeny, Florence Currier and husband Howard of Bettendorf and Mary Donna Dobyns and husband Virgil of Kaufman, Texas; one niece who was raised in his home, Luann Jones of Arkansas; and several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Joyce; and one infant brother, Ollie Ray.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Funeral Care in Eldon; Pastor Dave Albert and Pastor Rick Feidler officiating. Burial with military rites will be at Eldon Cemetery.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Funeral Care, where the family will be present for visitation from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday.
