OTTUMWA — Loretta Ann Armentrout, 85, formerly of 4487 180th Ave., died at 2:20 a.m. November 5, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
She was born January 12, 1928, in Keokuk County to Arthur and Cecil Louise Mietzel Paxton. She married Ivan L. Armentrout October 19, 1946. They recently celebrated their 67th anniversary.
Loretta is a member of Grace Point Nazarene Church in Bloomfield and had been a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Ottumwa. She also had been a member of the Soap Creek Rebels Saddle Club and the Y Women Group at the YWCA. She enjoyed playing cards.
Surviving are her husband, Ivan; three daughters, Connie (Danny) Bircher of Ottumwa, Beverly (Lawrence) Woten Jr. of Ottumwa and Sherie (Dennis) Saylor of Blakesburg; a son, David (Kathy) Armentrout of Mesa, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Marie Slagle; three brothers, Raymond Paxton, Chester Paxton and her twin, Virgil Paxton.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Dick Allen officiating. Her body will be cremated following the service. Inurnment will be in Shaul Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be open after 9 a.m. Saturday with the family present one hour prior to the service.
