BLOOMFIELD — Doris Daisy Anderson, 100, of Bloomfield, died Nov. 5, 2013, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
She was born Jan. 7, 1913, in Davis County to Thomas Aquilla and Matilda Swartz Huff. She married C.G. “Gib” Anderson March 23, 1946, at Camp Crowder in Missouri. He preceded her in death Sept. 18, 1973. Doris worked as a secretary at the Fimmen Law Office for 37 years. She enjoyed decorating, writing poetry, flowers and her pets. She was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church.
She is survived by two nieces, Carolyn (Gary) Morrison of Ottumwa, Charlene Stocker of Oelwein; a grand-nephew, Randy Stocker of Roswell, N.M.; and in her later years a group of friends and loving caregivers that came together to give her care and support.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; six sisters, Grace (Harvey) Proctor, Ethel (Ernest) Dye, Ruby (Ecil) Benson, Irene (Ray) Adams, Ivah (Dwight) Cox, infant baby sister; and a brother, Lloyd (Zella) Huff.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield; Pastor Jim Wakelin officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with friends gathering from 4-5 p.m.
A memorial has been established to Heartland Humane Society in Ottumwa.
