OTTUMWA — Mark Earl Vaughn, 64, of Masonville, Colo., passed away April 3, 2014, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland from complications of Multiple Myeloma.
Mark was born June 16, 1949, in Ottumwa to Leon Earl and Ellen Jane (Bolick) Vaughn. Mark graduated from Iowa State University, Ames, with a mechanical engineering degree.
Mark married Catherine Marie Rhodes in June 1973 on a ranch in Poudre Canyon, Colo.
Mark worked for Woodward Governor as a mechanical engineer, managed plants in Brazil and Japan, and was also a manager in Stephens Point, Wis., and Fort Collins, retiring in 1997.
Mark had a passion for fly fishing and skiing. He touched the lives of everyone he met and also leaves many good friends.
Mark is survived by his wife, Catherine; his mother, Ellen Vaughn of Ottumwa; his three sisters, Sue (Wally) Van Ness of Ottumwa, Lisa (Martin) Mortens of Johnston and Lorie (Kenneth) Young of Columbus, Neb. Mark is also survived by his nephews and niece and their spouses or soon-to-be spouses.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Leon Vaughn.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, Fort Collins, Colo.
