BLOOMFIELD — Melissa Marie Gleason, 39, of Indianola, formerly of Bloomfield, died April 9, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
She was born Oct. 21, 1974, in Bloomfield to Mark Edward and Sharon Ann Thomas Bolin. She was married to the love of her life, Eric Grant Gleason, on Oct. 17, 2012, in Bloomfield. She worked at Cambridge Investment Research in Fairfield as a business analyst. Melissa loved spending time with her children and husband. She enjoyed a lot of outside activities including walking, mountain biking, fishing and planting flowers. Melissa was proud to be an Iowa farm girl. She was affiliated with the Drakesville United Methodist Church in Drakesville.
She is survived by her husband; three children, Brett and Carson Dean, Cyrus Gleason; parents, Mark and Sharon Bolin of Unionville; two sisters, Clarissa Allen of Unionville, Katherine (Paul) Oliver of Tipton; brother, William (Natalie) Bolin of Unionville; grandmother, Eileen Bolin of Drakesville; 13 nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Daphne (Dan) Michaels of Highland, Ill., Lyndsay (Khaled) Al-Khanfar of Bloomfield; and her mother- and father-in-law, Keith and Sherri Gleason of Bloomfield.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sam and Mary Thomas; and grandfather, Eugene Bolin.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Bloomfield United Methodist Church; Pastor Tim Frasher officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the family present from 2-4 p.m.
A memorial has been established to her children’s education.
