OTTUMWA — Geraldine “Gerry” Mae Rossi, 79, of Ottumwa, died April 10, 2014, at her home.
She was born Oct. 27, 1934, in Milton, Iowa, to Clyde Edwin and Hazel Mae Harmon Bickel. She married Robert Enlow March 28, 1952. They later divorced. She married Joseph Frank Rossi Oct. 5, 1990. Gerry held various jobs throughout her life, being most proud of owning Rossi Gun Shop with her husband Joe. She enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family. Her hobbies were working with her hands — baking, embroidering, crocheting and ceramics. She also loved to read.
She is survived by her husband; eight children, Linda (Bruce) Troxel of Ottumwa, Richard Enlow of Texas, Barbara (Mike) Hird of Belknap; Judy (Donald) Chickering of Drakesville; Tracy (Owen) Lackey of Union Grove, Wis., Chuck (Nicole) Enlow of Blakesburg, Joseph Alan Rossi of Santa Rosa, Calif., Jennifer L. Rossi of Ore.; 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Ann Bickel Kinton of Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Shawn Michael Sample; three sisters, Crystal Foster, Irene Pender and Linda Lee Bickel; and a brother, Claude Bickel.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield; Pastor Gordon Hawkins officiating. Burial will be at the South Prairie Cemetery in Van Buren County.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday with the family present to greet friends from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
