OTTUMWA — Woodson “Woody” Mills, 79, of 1017 S. Milner, died at 7:05 p.m. June 19, 2013.
He was born Sept. 24, 1933, in Harlan County, Ky., to Edward and Sadie Sizemore Mills. He married Delsie Duncan on March 15, 1985.
Woody had been a resident of Ottumwa since 1985. He was a professional musician, singing and playing guitar. He had worked as a boilermaker and owned and operated his own bar, Pastime Lounge, in Chicago, Ill.
He was a member of Izaak Walton League and loved hunting and fishing. Woody enjoyed sports, especially baseball and basketball.
Surviving are his wife, Delsie; a daughter, Cathy Jo (Mark) Blough of Greenville, Ky.; a son, Steven Mills of Greenville, Ky.; four stepchildren, Donna Borowycz, Bobby (Linda) Thomason Sr., Larry Thomason and Gene Neubert, all of Ottumwa; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 15 stepgrandchildren; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; and three sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Monday with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
