OTTUMWA — Max Edward Peck, 76, of Ottumwa, died at 5:10 a.m. October 2, 2013, at Hospice House in Ottumwa.
He was born November 13, 1936, in Ottumwa to Max I. and Marie Eller Peck.
He operated dozers with his father. He worked for 27 years for Wapello County Secondary Road Department, retiring in 1997.
He enjoyed hanging out in the shop working on antique cars and spending time with his families’ dogs.
Surviving are two sons, Phillip Dirk Peck and Brad (Jayne) Peck, both of Ottumwa; a step-grandson, Robert Olinger of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Janet Wemer of Lakeland, Fla.; a brother, Jack Peck of Ottumwa.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patty Johnston.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Jane Martinez officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Inurnment will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Round Point Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
