OTTUMWA — Joann Orona passed away peacefully October 6, 2013, at the home of her daughter in Ottumwa.
She was born July 26, 1931, in Ottumwa to Edwin and Mamie Pickle Stevens. She married Harlan Keasling on June 3, 1950. He died May 22, 1975. She married Marvin Orona in December 1985. He died August 28, 2004.
A graduate of Agency High School, Joann attended Iowa Success School and later Iowa School of Cosmetology. She owned and operated Jo’s Hair Affair. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved cooking, sewing and traveling, but mostly she was a beloved mother and grandmother who cared for, helped and loved each and every one of her children and grandchildren in so many special ways.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda (David) Ehrenhard of Ottumwa; her son, Dan (Sue) Keasling of Ottumwa; eight grandchildren, Tyler Keasling, Michael (Amber) Keasling, Dallas Black, Rachael Ehrenhard, Chris Ehrenhard, Cody (Cindy) Ehrenhard, Matt Keasling and Brandy Pryor; eight great-grandchildren, Addie Keasling, Lucas Keasling, Dylan Ehrenhard, Spencer Ehrenhard, Carter Ehrenhard, Taylor Ehrenhard, Kaysha Dodson and Lorraine Dodson; three step-great-grandchildren, Lexi, Kevin and Adam Kleinfelder; two sisters, Helen Myers and Carolyn Barnett, both of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jeff Keasling; her parents; one sister, Irene Stevens; and two brothers, Loren Stevens and Raymond Stevens.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice serving Wapello and Davis Counties, Calvary Baptist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
