Phyllis Latcham, 84, of 438 S. Moore, died at 5:18 p.m. January 8, 2013 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
She was born December 2, 1928 in Rose Hill, IA to Glen and Margaret Lobbins Fowler. She married J.W. Latcham on September 21, 1949. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1983.
A graduate of Sigourney High School, at one time Phyllis and her husband owned and operated the Wooden Shoe Tavern in Ottumwa, which is now Alpine Inn. Prior to retiring, she worked at the Family Planning Clinic in Ottumwa
Surviving are two daughters, Christy Dyer and Lori (Scott) Reeves both of Ottumwa; a son, Glen Latcham of Ottumwa; three grandchildren, Shannon Dyer, Derek Dyer and Alexandra Reeves; three great-grandchildren, Delaney Mondia, Dalton Mondia and Owen Jensen.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Church and a brother, Glen Fowler Jr.
Graveside services and burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday at White Oak Cemetery near Rose Hill with Gary Reeves officiating.
Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
