Kerry Alan Huston, 40, of 827 Albia Rd., died November 27, 2012 at his home.
He was born October 10, 1972 in Ottumwa, the son of Frank R. and Patricia K. Goos Huston. He married Lori Taylor on May 12, 2001.
A 1991 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Kerry had worked for Ace Hardware for 10 years, for Ottumwa Regional Health Center and for Ottumwa Community Schools. He helped maintain the Ottumwa High School softball facility. He loved farming; helping his grandpa and local farmers.
Surviving is his best friend, Lori Huston of Ottumwa; his parents, Patricia and Dale Essick and Frank and Janey Huston all of Ottumwa; a sister, Kris Gipson of Albany, MO; two brothers, Todd (Cathy) Essick of Ladora and Sean (Angela) Bitner of Chicago, IL; grandmother, Lorraine Huston of Sioux City, IA; lifelong friend, Glen Bradfield of Huxley; aunts, uncles, cousins and two four-legged friends, Erin and Buddy.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jeremy Bitner; grandparents, Vernon and Margery Goos and Frank B. Huston.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. James Altmaier officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery near Gladbrook.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Thursday with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
