Larry D. Hining, 62, of Ottumwa, died at 11:14 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
He was born Feb. 15, 1950, in Ottumwa to Ival and Vanetta Hastings Hining. He married Renee Ruby on June 15, 1985.
A 1968 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Larry had attended Indian Hills Community College and he had served with the U.S. Navy.
He worked for 34 years for John Deere Ottumwa Works.
Larry was a member of Willard Street United Methodist Church and had been a member of Ottumwa Evening Lions Club.
Surviving are his wife, Renee; a daughter, Natalie Hining, of Ottumwa; an aunt, Helen Ernst, of Bloomfield; a nephew, Mike (Nan) Tharp; a niece, Patty (Gary) Gibbons; cousins, Shelly (Jeff) Bassett, Joe (Dee) Ernst, Vickie (Steve) Carey and Allison (Jeff) Wroe.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Amanda Renee; his parents; a sister, Janet Horn; an infant brother, Jimmy Hining; and a cousin, John Ernst.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home; with Rev. Leila Disburg officiating.
Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday, with family present from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorials may be made to the family to be used for organ transplant research.
