Marlon Lee Sitzman, 31, of 863 S. Ransom St., died Dec. 5, 2011, at his home.
He was born Sept. 13, 1980, in Creston to Jerry Balius and Gitte Guckelberger Sitzman-Tincher. He married Catreana Brown on Mar. 12, 2011, after being together for 11 years.
A graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1999, he had worked at Cargill Meat Solutions for the past six years. He had been a lifeguard at the YWCA and was an avid skateboarder. He was a T-ball coach and enjoyed playing baseball. He was a good uncle and a great dad.
Surviving are his wife, Catreana; three children, Monty Lee Sitzman, Eliza Jane Sitzman and Izaiah Alexander Sitzman; his mother, Gitte Sitzman-Tincher of Ottumwa; his father, Jerry Balius of Creston; a brother, Angelo David Sitzman of Ottumwa; two nephews, Liam and Aiden Sitzman; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
His body has been cremated.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home; with Rev. Shane Frazier officiating. Private inurnment will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family for his children’s education.
