OTTUMWA — Helen E. Granneman, 83, formerly of 1532 W. Finley Ave., died June 9, 2014, at The Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa.
She was born July 31, 1930, in Wapello County, Iowa, to Jim and Mabel Haines Lane. She married Larry Granneman on June 21, 1947. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1991.
Helen was a mother and housewife and enjoyed traveling with her husband in their motor home. She was an avid walker and walked three miles a day until her health began to fail.
She was a member of East End Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn (Ron) Dawson of Vero Beach, Florida; three sons, Gary (Gail) Granneman and Roger (Mary) Granneman, both of Ottumwa, Dave Granneman of Mesa, Arizona; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five sisters, Edie Rooker, Mary Alice Nelson and Cora Beggs all of Ottumwa, Dorothy Taggart of Des Moines and Naomi Seaton of Nevada.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenny and John Lane and two sisters, Augusta Fletcher and Louise Johnson.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Jane Martinez officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Thursday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Society Hospice.
