OTTUMWA — Jimmy P. Eaves, 76, of Los Fresnos, Texas, formerly of Ottumwa passed away June 6, 2014, in Harlingen, Texas.
Jim loved music and was a talented musician; he played many instruments and was also known as “Slick Magoo” to others in the music world.
Surviving are his ex-wife, Glenda Spinks; his children, Glenda Sue (Marty) Roefer, Nancy Lyn (Davis) Hill, Jimmy P. Spinks, Joey P. (Hannya) Spinks, Crystal (Ralph) Ramirez, Brenda Young, Debbie (Kim) Coppedge, Chris (Kathy) Kitterman, Kerry (Theresa) Kitterman, Rusty Kitterman and Kim Kitterman; 22 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Lynn (Paul) McFarland, Sue Koehler, Connie (Bob) Shaw and Evelyn (Ron) Ruby; numerous nieces and nephews; and his two dogs, Karma and Pepper.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Lucille Pentzer Eaves, and a sister, Shirley Inman.
His body has been cremated.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor John Cooper officiating. Inurnment will be in McIntire Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Eagles Club Room, 109 S. Green St. in Ottumwa.
The family will be present at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Manatee County, Florida Search and Rescue for Project Lifesaver.
