OTTUMWA — Kathy Sue Lukehart, 43, of 18628 Rock Bluff Road, died at 2:26 a.m. July 13, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville as the result of a boating accident at Lake Rathbun.
She was born March 9, 1971, in Ottumwa to William D. “Bill” and Bonnie Louise Taylor Hazelwood. She married Lee Alan Lukehart on April 14, 2012.
A 1989 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Kathy had worked at Excel for 14 years, and for the past seven years worked at Indian Hills Community College.
She loved to ride her Harley, especially with the Patriot Guard and Hogs 4 Dogs.
Surviving are her husband, Lee; a son, Justin MacQueen (Jordan Huff) of Ottumwa; a daughter, Whitney (Nathan) Smith of Ottumwa; a stepson, Westley of Missouri; a grandchild, Jamysyn MacQueen; her mother, Bonnie Hazelwood of Ottumwa; five brothers, Will (Connie) Hazelwood, Mike (Valerie) Hazelwood, Richard (Lennice) Hazelwood, John (Trena) Hazelwood, all of Ottumwa, James “Jim” (Toni) Hazelwood of Riverside; three sisters, Karen Johnson of Floris, Marybeth Ott of Boone and Carol (Chris) Storto of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Hazelwood.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Don Kirchner officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Thursday with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
