OTTUMWA — Lloyd W. Durflinger, 76, of 11758 50th Ave., died at 5:45 p.m. July 15, 2014, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
He was born November 13, 1937, in rural Ottumwa to George O. and Garnett E. Davidson Durflinger. He married Diana Dorn on February 2, 1958.
Lloyd graduated from Agency High School in 1956 and engaged in farming all of his life. He was co-owner and operator of Wapello County Grain, retiring in 2009.
He was a member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge #347, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie # 114, I.O.O.F. Magnolia Lodge #24, Iowa Cattlemen’s Association, Wapello County Historical Society and Ottumwa Bowling Association.
Surviving are his wife, Diana; two sons, Bob (Tracie) Durflinger and Wayne (Keni) Durflinger, both of Ottumwa; two daughters, Carla Wagamon of Hedrick and Patti (Jim) Benson of Ottumwa; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Louise Boyd of Ottumwa; three brothers, Harry L. (Betty) Durflinger of Greentop, Missouri, David (Marlene) Durflinger of Ottumwa and Phillip (Sandra) Durflinger of Agency.
He was preceded in death by a brother, George “Junior” Durflinger; a sister, Mary Jones and a son-in-law, Monty Wagamon.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor David Albert officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ottumwa Bowling Association or Jefferson County Health Center Infusion Center.
