OSKALOOSA — Carol Thomas 55, of Oskaloosa, died June 14, 2013, at Serenity House in Oskaloosa.
Carol was born in Denver, Colo., on April 2, 1958, to Robert and Shirley Mitchell Sea Jr. She married Richard Thomas at Lake Keomah in 1989.
Carol had moved from Colorado at age 7 to California and then came to Iowa in 1978.
She worked as a nurse at the St. Joseph Hospital in Ottumwa and drove for the 10-15 bus for many years.
Carol loved to garden, camp and spend time with her grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her husband, Richard; one son, Shane of Oskaloosa; one daughter, April (Jarrod) Stocker of Ottumwa; two stepdaughters, Misty Jo (Mike) Bunnell and Latisha (Curtis) Bunnell, both of Oskaloosa. She is also survived by two grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and two brothers, David (Rita) Crawford of California and Scot Sayre of California.
As were Carol’s wishes, cremation has been accorded.
A celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m. June 29 at the Howell Station, Lake Red Rock, Pella.
