OTTUMWA — Phyllis A. Whennen, 72, of 920 Boone Ave., died at 9:55 p.m. April 21, 2014, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
She was born June 4, 1941, in Ottumwa to Fred and Mildred Walker Kopp. She married David Whennen on October 13, 1977. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2004.
A resident of Ottumwa all of her life, Phyllis had worked at Sunnyslope and Chariton Manor as an aide and C.N.A.
She loved her dachshund, Daisy Mae.
Surviving is her sister, Allonia (Jack) Harland of Ottumwa; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Clifford, Chuck, Larry and LaVerne Kopp; four sisters, infant Betty Kopp, Ruth Long, Elaine Hopkins and Norma Hart.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Burial will be in the Floris Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Thursday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
