CEDAR — Rhoda Mae Moore, 91, of Bloomington, Ill., formerly of the Cedar/Oskaloosa area, passed away April 7, 2014, in Bloomington.
She was born in Schuyler County, Mo., May 8, 1922. She moved to the Mahaska County area as a young girl and lived there until her marriage to Harold W. Moore in 1939. He passed away Feb. 11, 2009, shortly after his 87th birthday. Harold and Rhoda were married for 69 1/2 years.
Rhoda's family includes her son, J. Wes Moore (Kathy) of Bellevue, Wash.; a daughter: Twila (Larry) Sears of Bloomington, Ill.; two grandchildren, Chad Sears and Tiffanie Sears Mendiola, both of Bloomington; and three great-grandchildren, Chancellor, Armani and Oliva; two sisters, Margaret Ashman of Pella and Donna (Jim) Carr of Winter Haven, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; a sister, Rose Nicholson; and brothers, Keith and Karl Walker.
A private graveside service for family members was held on May 3, 2014, in the Cedar Township Memorial Cemetery in Fremont; Pastor Bud Lane officiating.
Fremont Funeral Chapel assisted the family.
