ELDON — William Henry “Bill” Rupe, 70, of 1424 82nd Ave., died at 11:12 p.m. May 7, 2014, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
He was born August 24, 1943, in Floris to Blaine and Sarah Bower Rupe. He married Margaret Wright, and they later divorced. He married Diane Kellner, and she preceded him in death in October 1999. He married Mary Hale on April 12, 2009.
Bill had served with the Iowa Army National Guard.
He worked for 31 years at John Deere Ottumwa Works, retiring in 1994. Bill farmed all of his life.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; his children, Lisa Rogers and Darla (Mike) Shilling, both of Bloomfield, Brian (Vicky) Rupe of Batavia; his stepchildren, Wayne (Melissa) Hale of Bloomfield, Margaret (Rick) Metcalf and Theresa (Jim) White, both of Selma, Jim Kellner, Danny Kellner, Chris Kellner, Barbie Kellner and Suzie Kellner; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Peggy (Steve) West of Blakesburg.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Perkins; three sisters, Marjorie Martsching, Bonnie Batterson and Nellie Bradshaw; three brothers, Jim, Jack and Dick Rupe.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor David Albert officiating. Burial will be in McIntire Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Sunday with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
