OTTUMWA — Frank O. Rosenboom, 81, of Mission, Texas, and formerly of Ottumwa, died unexpectedly on May 31, 2014, at Trinity Unity Point in Bettendorf.
Frank O. Rosenboom was born in 1932 in Oskaloosa, a son of Henry and Arlene Rosenboom. He was baptized at the Davis Street Christian Church in Ottumwa. After graduating from Ottumwa High School, he served an apprenticeship of pipefitters and plumbers and began a lifelong career in the plumbing and pipefitting business.
On March 5, 1951, Frank was united in marriage to Dorothy Mae Scurlock. To this union were born three sons, Frank Alan Jr., John Owen and Robert Wayne, and one daughter, Teresa Anne. After relocating to Davenport, Frank established Aero Plumbing in 1977, serving as president until retiring in 1993, at which time he passed the business on to sons John and Robert. An active Mason, Frank was a member of the Kaaba Shrine, Davenport Lodge #37 and was a Past Grand Patron of the Grand Chapter of Iowa Order of the Eastern Star. He was also a Past Patron of Trinity Chapter #541 Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of First Christian Church in Davenport.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 63 years, Dorothy; sons, Frank Alan Jr., John Owen and Robert Wayne; daughter, Teresa Anne; sisters, Marilyn Holteen and Mary Louise Hartley; brother, Richard Rosenboom; grandsons, Mike Rosenboom, Scott Rosenboom, Chris Rosenboom, Steven Rosenboom, Brett Kiser and Grant Rosenboom; grandaughters, Jennifer Schmelter, Stephanie Rosenboom and Marissa Kiser; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Our family has lost a devoted husband, a great dad, grandpa and great-grandpa and brother. The memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who have known and loved him.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Leona Rosenboom; and a brother, Leonard Roy Rosenboom.
