HEDRICK — Peggy Jean Dolberg, 75, of 4001 145th St., died at 12:05 a.m. August 22, 2013, at Hospice House in Ottumwa.
She was born May 30, 1938, in Bladensburg to Ernest and Cora Parker Johnson. She married Dale Dolberg on May 8, 1966.
Peggy was a 1956 graduate of Farson High School. She had worked at John Deere Ottumwa Works before working at Motorola in Mesa, Ariz., and the Officers Club in Ft. Campbell, Ky. Upon returning to Iowa, she resumed working at John Deere Ottumwa Works. Peggy farmed with her husband, Dale, and was the principal farmer when Dale traveled.
She was a member of Prairie View United Methodist Church.
Peggy loved animals, having raised German Shepherd dogs and Siamese cats. She was active in 4-H while growing up and continued her interest through her children’s 4-H activities. Peggy was a country music fan, loved gardening and birds and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband, Dale; a daughter, Sheri (David) Oostra of Packwood; a son, Terry (Penny) Dolberg of Urbandale; five grandchildren, Shae, Faith and Haylea Oostra, Maddy and Ty Dolberg; a sister, Sharon (John) Wolf of Keosauqua.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Juanita Johnson.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Prairie View United Methodist Church with Pastor David Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Competine Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Sunday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
