OTTUMWA — Beverly Ann Petty, 80, of Ottumwa, She died at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa, Iowa on Monday, September 9, 2013.
Beverly was born Dec. 11, 1932, the daughter of Carl Thomas and Zella Ellen (Smith) Morgan in Decatur County, Iowa.
Beverly attended Garden Grove High School and played basketball, and she graduated in 1950. She lived most of her adult life in Ottumwa. She was married briefly to Dale Petty. Beverly was a hairdresser, and she owned and operated her own shop in Ottumwa. She had many loyal customers.
Beverly had lots of friends, and they enjoyed cooking and eating together. They also enjoyed going to dances. Beverly liked to spoil her nieces and nephews and was very generous in her gifts to them.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her siblings, infant Marjorie Morgan, Betty Braby, Grace Scott, Lois Jones, Frances Bond, Virginia Lasley, George Morgan, Bill Morgan, Guy Morgan, and John Morgan; and her close friend Warren Roberts.
Survivors include her siblings, Patty & Louie Poole of Lamoni, Iowa, Richard & Marge Morgan of Emerson, Iowa, Eloise McKern of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and Juanita Leonard of Chariton, Iowa; nieces and nephews; good friends, Deb and Dawn; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday at the Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon.
