OTTUMWA — Richard Lee Robbins, 82, of 401 S. Sheridan St., went home to be with his maker at 1:55 p.m. May 7, 2013, at Hospice House in Ottumwa.
He was born March 10, 1931, in Mercer County, Mo., to Hugh and Rosa Tuttle Robbins. He married Wilma Joyce White on June 1, 1951.
A resident of Ottumwa most of his life, he worked 23 years at John Morrell and Co. He also worked for Ottumwa Transit Lines, Rex Appliance, Southern Iowa Diesel and had managed Brooklyn 80 Restaurant.
He enjoyed helping people with their lawn mowers and was very devoted to his family.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma; six children, Vickie (Cleon) Babcock of Delta, Joanna Robbins of Ottumwa, Randy Robbins of Ottumwa, Scott Robbins (Brenda Ziegler) of Farson, P.J. (Scott) Cordray of Ottumwa and Kimberly Ann (Damien) Bolin of Pleasant Hill; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul (Jeannie) Robbins of Akron, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Deborah Jane Robbins; and two brothers, Hugh and John Robbins.
His body has been cremated. A reception will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at 923 S. Weller St. in Ottumwa.
