LINBY — Sherry Lou Stone, 64, of Linby, passed away May 19, 2013 at Jefferson County Health Center.
Sherry was born Jan. 23, 1949 in Ottumwa to William and Loretta Barber Deeds. She married Thomas R Stone on March 16, 1968 in Eldon.
She graduated from Cardinal High School in 1967. She has lived in the Packwood area for the past 45 years. She was a housewife, mother and an avid supporter to all the boys and their families of Pekin sports.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Thomas Stone; three children, Brian (Carla) Stone of Fairfield, Crista (David) Harper of Packwood and William “Willie” (Sarah) Stone of Corning; six grandchildren, Dalton Stone, Leslie Stone, Noah Stone, Jade Harper, Caleb Schwab and Nic Stone; her parents, William and Loretta Deeds; three brothers, Michael Deeds of Hideaway, Texas, Ronald Deeds of Granbury, Texas and Scott Deeds of Colorado Springs, Colo.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Ezekiel Harper.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Packwood Christian Church, Packwood; Pastor Frosty Van Voorst officiating. Burial of cremains will be at a later date.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Packwood Christian Church, Packwood.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for “Disabled Veterans." Cards and memorials can be mailed to 1088 Linby St., Packwood, Iowa 52580.
According to her wishes her body has been cremated.
