OTTUMWA – Eleanor M. Cooper, 78, of 520 N. Jefferson St., died at 2:08 a.m. August 16, 2013, at Hospice House in Ottumwa.
She was born August 19, 1934, in W. Decatur, Pennsylvania, to Paul and Martha Woods Hamilton. She married Calvin Cooper February 14, 1977. He preceded her in death July of 1995.
Having lived many places around the country, Eleanor had been a resident of Ottumwa for the past 10 years.
She had worked as a nurse’s aide in several places, including Yuma Regional Health Center. She had also worked as a manager at Circle K in Arizona.
Eleanor enjoyed fishing, camping and sightseeing. She had participated in Relay for Life while living in Ottumwa. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are five sons, Donald (Linda) Reiter of San Antonio, Texas, Paul (Shawna) Reiter of Oklahoma City, Okla., Nathan (Sue) Reiter of Ottumwa, Robert Reiter of Edmond, Okla., and Mark (Charlotte) Reiter of Hennessey, Okla.; eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and a sister, Ethel Mae Baumgarner of Yuma, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Kason Ashlock; a sister, Sherril; and two brothers, Dewey and Winfield Little.
Her body has been cremated.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Loyd Osborn officiating. The family will be at the funeral home one hour prior to service.
