Dorothy Willcut

OTTUMWA — Dorothy Mae Willcut, 87, entered into heaven on July 2, 2013.

She was born in Olustee, Okla., on Dec. 13, 1925. She married Rev. Gene Willcut on Oct. 28, 1944 in Olustee.

In 1957, Gene and Dorothy entered Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Mo. After graduation in 1960, they pastored the Bible Baptist Church in Bonner Springs, Kan. for 2½ years. Gene, Dorothy, Kathy and Carl then moved to Mexico City for language school. They then moved to Linares, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and for the next 31 years they established many churches and missions in Linares and the Sierra Madre mountain villages. Due to health concerns, Gene and Dorothy returned from the mission field to reside to Altus, Okla., from the mid 1990s to August of 2007. They relocated to Ottumwa, Iowa to be cared for by their daughter.

Dorothy was a faithful child of God, a loving daughter, a caring sister, an adored wife and a devoted mother. She was also an admired and greatly loved grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

She will be deeply missed. We know her suffering is over and she is with her Savior and loved ones waiting for her in heaven.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; her parents; a sister, Bobbi; a brother, Ted; her son, Carl; cousins, Bud and Lou and granddaughter, Heather.

She is survived by her daughters, Terry (Don) Clark of Bonner Springs, Kan., and Kathy (Mick Sr.) Hucks of Ottumwa; 10 grandchildren, Bobbi Clark of Kansas with her children, Jeremy, Amanda and Mariah and a great-great-grandchild, Eligah, Christi Clark of Kansas with her sons, Dalton and Dakota, Don (Nancy) Clark Jr. of Kansas with their sons, Logan, Corbin and Mason, Heath Clark of Kansas, Nancy (Brian) Morrow of Ottumwa, Mick (Cyndi) Hucks Jr. of Ottumwa with their children, Maddy, Marshall and Jackson, Kenny Hucks of Knoxville with daughter, Kilye, Sarah Hucks (Jason) Gade of Chicago, Ill., Amber (Mike) Thaggard of Oklahoma with her children, Parker, Hayden and Ethan, Bernie (Mylinda) Willcut of Oklahoma.
