OTTUMWA — Ida L. Hodge, 93, of Evansville, Ind., formerly of Ottumwa, passed away July 9, 2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville.
Ida was born on Dec. 8, 1919, in Ottumwa to the late E.A. and Frances E. (Tomlinson) O’Dell. On Jan. 21, 1943, she married Aaron S. Hodge Jr. He preceded her in death on April 9, 2010.
Ida served as pastor of the Church of God in Flat, Mo., for nine years and the Zion Community Church of God in Ottumwa for eight years. A graduate of Winona High School, Winona, Mo., she was always a learner, taking many classes of continuing education. Ida was a faithful wife and mother, invested in the lives of others as a leader in the local church and was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.
Survivors include a son, Maurice "Mo" (Nancy) Hodge of Decatur, Ind.; daughter, Mary Lou (Dave) Lloyd of Evansville, Ind.; sister, Lois Yates; four grandchildren, Audra Hodge (Justin) Kauffman, Jonathan (Michelle) Lloyd, Jared (Renee) Hodge and Matt (Promise) Lloyd; and two great-grandsons, Daniel and James Kauffman.
Ida was preceded in death by two brothers, Morris and Paul O’Dell.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at The Bridge Community Church in Decatur, Ind.; Pastors Mo Hodge and Kenneth Mishler officiating. Burial will be in Ray Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the church and one hour prior to services.
