RICHLAND — Grace Marie Trigg, 86, of Anaheim, Calif., formerly of southeast Iowa, died June 7, 2013, at Chapman Medical Center in Orange, Calif.

She was born Aug.10, 1926, near Packwood, the daughter of Loraine J. and Ruby C. (Reeder) Trigg. She lived with her family in Ollie, Hedrick and Richland growing up. She graduated from Richland High School in 1943. Not long after graduating, she moved with her family to Virginia Beach, Va., then in 1947, the family moved to the Los Angeles, Calif., area.

Grace worked many years for Bell Telephone in California and was one of their first female executives. She continued with “Ma Bell” until her retirement in 1981. She worked for the Los Angeles County Library System during her retirement.

She is survived by her sister, Harriet “Peggy” Kavanagh of Whittier, Calif.; her brother-in-law, Kermit L. Hinshaw of Ottumwa, formerly of Richland; her nephews, John Hinshaw of Ankeny, Korwin Hinshaw of Fairfield and Alan Kavanagh of Castaic, Calif.; her nieces; Mary Kay Kotzman of Los Angeles, Calif., Emily Emonin of Marion, Margaret Wells of Manhattan Beach, Calif., Nancy Marshall of Whittier, Calif., Candice Barnes of Wildomar, Calif., Sallie Hayes of Fairfield, Kay Kavanagh of Whittier, Calif., and Jane Van Dyke of Anaheim, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William “Bill” Trigg and Paul Trigg; her sister, Janet Hinshaw; and her niece, Emily Trigg.

A small gathering in memory of Grace Trigg will be held at the home of her sister, “Peggy” Kavanagh in Whittier, Calif. Burial will be at a later date in the family plot at the Highland Cemetery in Richland with a small graveside service.
