HEDRICK — Harry Gene Conner Sr., 80, of 18658 90th Ave., died at 8:49 a.m. November 19, 2013 at home.
He was born July 28, 1933 in Corydon to Harry Leo and Marjorie Ruth Woods Conner.
Harry grew up in Humeston, and served four years in the U.S. Navy and 16 years in the U.S. Air Force, having served in Vietnam.
He moved to Hedrick in 1973 and managed the Koffee Kup in Ottumwa for several years. Harry had worked at the American Home Finding shelter in Agency.
He was a member of F.B.O. Eagles Aerie #114 and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his children, Bill (Mary) Book of Columbia, MO, Darlene Krueger of Kirksville, MO, Harry (Jennifer) Conner Jr. of New London, Cathy Harryman of Hedrick, Marjorie (Rich) Young of Ottumwa; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services and burial will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Humeston Cemetery with Darryl Hanson officiating. Military services will be conducted by Russell E. Marshall Post #68 American Legion.
Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
