FLORIS — Luanne M. Roberts, 56, of Floris, lost her valiant fight against cancer and passed away peacefully at 1:20 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society of Ottumwa.
Luanne Marie was born Oct. 27, 1957, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the daughter of Delbert H. and Louise W. Weigmann Hormann. She was educated in the Davis County school system. On May 24, 1997, she married Darrell “Pudge” Roberts in Davis County. She had previously been married to George Rebol Jr.
Luanne was employed as a dietary aide for the past two years at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield. Prior to that, she had been employed for over 13 years at Res/Care Optima in Bloomfield. Luanne attended Living Hope Bible Church in Eldon. She loved to read, watch movies, bowl and, most importantly, spend time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Darrell “Pudge” Roberts of Floris; two sons, Cody Roberts of Floris and Jason Rebol and wife Nicole of Osceola; three stepchildren, Darrell “Pudgie” Roberts of Floris, Deana Horney and husband Brad of Bloomfield and Carrie Roberts of Bloomfield; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Lucinda Hopwood of Agency and Liesa Cloke and husband Frank of Eldon; three brothers, Donald Hormann and wife Suzanne of Bourbonnais, Ill., David Hormann and wife Beverly of Bushnell, Ill., and Darrell Hormann of Ottumwa; several nieces and nephews; and a special devoted friend, Cathy Lawson of Fairfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant sister, Lorraine.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Living Hope Bible Church in Eldon; with Pastor Mark Clark officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery near Floris.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Grace Funeral Care in Eldon with fmaily present from 4-6 p.m. Friday evening.
