OTTUMWA — Patricia Elaine “Pat” Carroll, 78, of Ottumwa, died at 7:15 p.m. April 30, 2013 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center as a result of injuries sustained from an auto accident.
She was born Oct. 31, 1934 in Batavia. She married Richard H. “Dick” Carroll at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
She was a graduate of Stockport High School in 1953. Pat was an active realtor and owned her own real estate business for many years. She previously owned and operated an interior design store, Interior Designs by Carrolls, and spent many years working with the family lumber business.
She was an active member of First Pentecostal Assembly of God, where she was involved in their world missions programs and loved singing as a soloist and in the church choir. Pat was involved with a local P.E.O. group and was an avid supporter of local musical and artistic programs her entire life.
Pat held a pilot’s license at one time, and loved to shoot guns and hunt in her younger years with her husband and sons. She enjoyed traveling with Dick and spending time with her many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever possible.
Surviving is her husband, Dick; her children, Jan (Willard) McClintock of Glenwood Springs, Colo., Janie (Bob) Heimbergner of Longmont, Colo., Kim (Richard) Heckart, Steve (Kathy) Carroll, Kevin (Linda) Carroll, all of Ottumwa, Christine (Mark) Bergan-Strange of Corpus Christi, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Todd, Marla, Cory, Aric, Courtney, Dan, Tanner, Holly, Keith, Brooke and Bradley; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters; six brothers.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Pentecostal Assembly of God with Pastor Richard Schlotter and Pastor George Edgerly officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Sunday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 2-4 p.m. Sunday.
