---- — William Frank Ward III, 47, passed away April 18, 2013, peacefully at his home in Eldon.

Frank was born Jan. 11, 1966, in Macomb, Ill., to William Frank and Lee Ann Dean Ward. Frank grew up in Fort Pierce, Fla. He graduated from John Carroll Catholic High School in Fort Pierce, Fla., in 1984. After high school Frank attended Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla., where he received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and continued coursework in juvenile justice. He began work with youth services in various roles throughout Florida and Iowa and also worked for First Resources through Evan’s Middle School in Ottumwa. He received numerous awards at Florida State Science Fair, junior division. Frank became disabled and retired in 2000.

Frank was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Fort Pierce, Fla. He was an adventurer and enjoyed photography, swimming, camping and the outdoors. He was involved in scouting, youth activities/justice, and he cherished time with his only nephew, Jacob. Frank was a true friend to many and will be missed dearly. We are thankful to Frank for a lifetime of friendship, love and memories.

Survivors include his parents, Frank and Lee Ann Ward of Vero Beach, Fla; his sister and brother-in-law, Paige Ward Jerome and husband Craig of Vero Beach, Fla; and his nephew, Jacob Andrew Jerome of Vero Beach, Fla. Frank is loved and cherished by relatives and friends throughout Florida, Iowa and Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lee Andrew and Mary Jane Dean; his grandmother, Ruth Atwood; and his uncle, Richard Lanford.

Per Frank’s wishes his body will be cremated, and no services will be held locally. Grace Funeral Care in Eldon assisted the family with carrying out his wishes.

A Mass of Catholic Burial and memorial service will be held in Vero Beach, Fla., at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church at a later date. The family will be greeting friends and relatives following the Mass on the same day. Burial will follow at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Cemetery in Rogers, Ark. Frank will be buried along side his great grandparents, grandparents and uncle.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Boy Scout Troop 530 and mailed to 810 32nd Ave., Vero Beach, FL 32960, C/O Jacob A. Smith.
