OTTUMWA — Esther V. Clark, 89, of Vinton, formerly of Ottumwa, died at 1:15 p.m. January 11, 2014, at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton.
She was born December 4, 1924, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Harvey Franklin and Rosetta Mae Eudora Dimmitt Hunt. She married Ralph E. Clark on June 7, 1942. He preceded her in death on June 4, 1990.
Esther was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a charter member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene, devoting her life to teaching children about Jesus. Esther was also a wedding planner.
Surviving are three daughters, Rosetta J. Clark of California, Susan (Terry) Hart of Vinton and Patricia L. Jones of Des Moines; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; five sisters, Dorothy Johnson of Oregon, Mary VanDerHorst and Martha Santee, both of Iowa, Shirley Morrow of South Dakota, Violet Colegrove of California; and a brother, Harold Hunt of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Ruth; three brothers, Charles, Archie and Paul Hunt; and a son-in-law, Donald Boer.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Paul I. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
A memorial has been established.
