---- — OTTUMWA — Carol Ann (Silver) Williams, 64, of Des Moines, passed away peacefully after a courageous four-year battle with cancer Jan. 24, 2014, at the Kavanagh House on 56th, with her husband, Don “Donnie” Williams and her mother, Miriam Turner, at her side.
Carol was born in Pueblo, Colo., to Roland and Miriam (Becker) Silver. After her family moved to Iowa, Carol attended school in Ottumwa, where she graduated from high school in 1967. Carol met and married her childhood sweetheart, Don “Donnie” Williams. They moved to Des Moines, where she lived most of the rest of her life. She was an employee of Principal Financial for 40 Years. Carol thoroughly enjoyed life with all her friends and interests in drag car racing, traveling, cooking and reading.
Carol is survived by her husband, Don “Donnie;” and her mother, Miriam Silver Turner, of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roland Silver; her stepfather, Danny Turner; and her son, Rob Williams.
The family will greet friends from 10 am. to noon Thursday with a Celebration of Life at noon at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW Ninth St.
