OTTUMWA — Dolores J. “Cub” Vannoy, 82, formerly of 700 W. Alta Vista, died at 1:10 p.m. May 20, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
She was born Aug. 10, 1930 in Washington County, Iowa to Paul and Marie Snyder Leeper. She married Richard Vannoy on Feb. 15, 1948. He preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 1992.
Dolores was raised in Packwood and was a graduate of Packwood High School. She lived in Lamont from 1960-63, moved to Delhi in 1963 and then to Packwood in 1968. She was a resident of Keosauqua from 1988 until moving to Ottumwa in 1993.
Dolores was a dietitian at Pekin High School for over 20 years. She also worked at the Stockport Senior Site and at Ottumwa Country Club.
She was a member of Davis St. Christian Church, Christian Women’s Fellowship, the Fifty-two Club and the Kroney Krew.
Surviving are three daughters, Susan (Bob) Miller and Barbara (Steve) Allison, both of Ottumwa, Mary (Tom) Snoddy of Vancouver, Wash.; six grandchildren, John Marlay, Ryan (Jill) Marlay, Richard Snoddy, Aaron Snoddy, Stephanie Snoddy, Jessica Allison; two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Brooke Marlay.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Rex Leeper; and a sister Pauline Harreld.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Harlan Van Voorst officiating. Burial will be in the Packwood Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Thursday with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
