Eddie Mosher, 79, Ottumwa


OTTUMWA — William Edward “Eddie” Mosher Jr., 79, of Ottumwa, died February 13, 2013 at his home.

He was born March 8, 1933 in Ottumwa to William Edward and Florence M. Benson Mosher Sr. He married Mary Morgan, they later divorced. He married Dixie Lee Swarts on April 11, 1969. She preceded him in death on March 17, 2009.

A 1950 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Eddie served in the U.S. Army.

He had worked at Curley Printing in Burlington for a short time, and he then worked for Rexnord, which became Lund’s, for 25 years.

Surviving are his children, William R. “Buddy” Mosher of Florissant, MO, William Herbert “Billy” Carter of Davenport, Mark Edward Carter of Hiawatha, KS, Karen Blome of White Bear, MN; two step-daughters, Jo-Etta Bowen of Burlington and Ruth Van Gelder of Cedar Falls; 13 grandchildren including Jodi Wacha of Nebraska who was raised in the home; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Eugene (Vicki) Mosher of Ottumwa; and a sister, Betty Buffington of Ottumwa.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Flossie Keoppel and Doris Hanna; two brothers, Jack D. Mosher and Richard Mosher.

His body has been cremated.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Hornback officiating. Inurnment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service.
