CENTERVILLE — Stephen Nicolas Tibbals, 22, of Centerville, passed away Aug. 18, 2013, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Stephen was born Oct. 28, 1990, to Sherri Tibbals in Ottumwa.
A graduate of Albia High School, class of 2009, Stephen went on to attend Indian Hills Community College. He worked construction, farmed and worked for Iowa Steel and Wire.
Stephen loved being outdoors, fishing and hunting. In high school he wrestled, played baseball, football and basketball. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and video games. However, nothing was more important to Stephen than his children.
Stephen is survived by two children, Lilly Isabella Tibbals and Jaxen Allen-Grant Tibbals; his parents, Sherri and Randy Kellar of Albia; a brother, Randy Jr. of Albia; grandparents, Don and Sharon Tibbals of Albia; and several stepbrothers, stepsisters, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herbert Arthur and Urada Mae Tibbals and Samuel Ivan and Cleo Coryne McKelvy; and two dogs, Rocko and Zeus.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Tharp Funeral Home in Albia; Pastor Neil Montz officiating. A private family burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be 12-8 p.m. Wednesday at Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with the family present from 6-8 p.m.
